US Team Sponsorship

2005 and 2006 were excellent years for Team USA as our players swept the Men's, Women's and Overall Championships in the 2005 and 2006 Pan American Championships (Venezuela and Guatemala), plus the 2006 World Championships (Dominican Republic).

Jack Huczek defended the Men's World Individual Singles title and became the first man to win the Gold Medal three consecutive World Championship Tournaments.  Aimee Ruiz and Laura Fenton won the Gold Medal in Ladies Doubles.

The Sponsorship Package offers various levels of participation and exposure for companies looking for advertising at relatively small cost.  Click on the link to check out the package and enjoy the many photographs of international competition GO TEAM USA........

US National Team Qualifying

[Effective 03/01/03] In order to earn an appointment to the U.S. National Team, benchmark performances must be reached at selected qualifiers. Currently, the team is made up of:

  • Top professional (accepting the invitation) from each tour (1 each, IRT/male & WPRO/female)
  • Top four (4) finishers from the U.S. National Singles Championships (4 each, male & female)
  • Finalists from the U.S. National Doubles Championships (4 teams * 2 each, male & female)
  • Intercollegiate National Champions (1 each, male & female)

By reaching these benchmarks, individuals are appointed to the U.S. Team for a term of one year, and are then added to a pool of athletes, from which international competitive squads are selected, by event [see expanded selection procedures]. U.S. Team members are bound by U.S. Olympic Committee anti-doping policies [www.usantidoping.org].

NOTE: U.S.Team appointments are made for one year from the date earned -- meaning that those athletes who qualified in one year remain on the team until they either re-qualify - or fail to do so - at the following year's event. Athletes may also re-qualify at the next available opportunity, thereby "double-qualifying" and extending their current appointments accordingly.

Junior Team Qualifying
For Juniors, two events serve as qualifiers for the U.S. Junior National Team, where benchmark performances must be reached in selected divisions to earn an appointment to the team. They are:

The National High School Championships:

  • Gold Division winners (1 each, male & female = 2)

The Junior Olympic Championships: (effective 2003)

  • 18 and under, singles finalists (2 each, male & female = 4)
  • 16 and under, singles finalists (2 each, male & female = 4)
  • 14 and under, singles finalists (2 each, male & female = 4)
  • 18 and under, doubles champions (2 each, male & female = 4)
  • 16 and under, doubles champions (2 each, male & female = 4)
  • 14 and under, doubles champions (2 each, male & female = 4)

By reaching these benchmarks, junior athletes are appointed to the U.S. Junior Team for a term of one year, and are then added to a pool of athletes to compete internationally and conduct goodwill tours abroad.

NOTE: Junior Team USA appointments are for one year from the date earned; those athletes who qualify in one year remain on the team until they either re-qualify - or fail to do so - at the following year's event. Athletes may also re-qualify at the next available opportunity, thereby "double-qualifying" and extending their current appointments accordingly. Prior to 1998, junior teams were determined on the basis of an annual "team trial" selection process.
